PrairieStar Health Center’s in-house lab has met all the criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA Inc., a leading national laboratory accreditor, whose program and standards enable clinical laboratories and staff to meet United States Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and other regulatory requirements.

“I am incredibly proud to announce that we have successfully passed our biennial COLA inspection with zero citations. This achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of our entire PSHC laboratory team who consistently prioritize accuracy, safety, and quality patient care. We are proud of our dedication to performing beyond the highest standards and adhering to the best practices in laboratory medicine,” lab manager, Lacey Stowers, said.

Through a mentoring approach using education to improve quality and patient safety, accreditation is given to laboratories that apply the highest standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. PSHC lab has earned COLA Inc. accreditation to provide quality services to its patients.

“The standards your laboratory maintains demonstrate your commitment to quality. Your emphasis on quality leads to reliable test results, which are essential in assuring excellence in patient care. We also compliment your laboratory staff for its dedication and continued support of COLA standards,” Mary McDonald, MD, and chair of COLA board of directors, said in an announcement to PrairieStar Health Center.

“We know that the accurate, reliable test results that we produce are critical for our medical providers to make informed diagnoses and provide the best patient care for PrairieStar patients,” Stowers said.
