JOB TITLE: RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN
JOB TYPE: NON-EXEMPT (HOURLY)
TYPE STATUS: CALL-IN (PRN)
JOB SUMMARY / OVERVIEW
PrairieStar Health Center is looking for a Radiology Technologist to work on call-in basis. Must be able to work until at least 6:00pm. Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and providing quality images.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Prepares patient for diagnostic imaging exam and explains the procedure to the patient.
- Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures.
- Ensures there is minimal radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using patient shielding, and maintaining sufficient knowledge of exposure factors.
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Ensures that results are delivered to the ordering physician in a timely manner.
- Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients and staff.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology Technology.
- Completed certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Maintain current state licensure thru Kansas State Board of Healing Arts
- CT and/or Mammography credential desired.
